Stronger security without the setup headache.

It’s not that businesses don’t take security seriously, most just need a simpler way to act on it.

Good security shouldn’t mean hours of configuration, a steep learning curve, or a support call every time something needs changing. We built Simple Security around the idea that protection should fit into how you already work, not add another job on top of it. That means setup that takes minutes rather than days, management that happens from a single screen wherever you are, and protection that’s part of the device from the start rather than something extra to configure.

Cloud-managed via Nebula – simple to manage from anywhere
Security built in, not bolted on

Competition Terms & Conditions  "Threat Wave"

1. The Promoter and the Game

1.1. The competition ("Competition") is "Threat Wave," run by Zyxel Networks, Gladsaxevej 378, Søborg, 2860, Denmark ("Promoter," "we," "us").

1.2. Threat Wave is an arcade-style game created for fun and to promote Zyxel Networks' security products. The threats, attacks and scores in the game are fictional and simplified. The game does not represent, simulate or test real-world cyber threats or network security, or the performance or capabilities of any Zyxel product, including the USG FLEX H firewall. Nothing in the game is technical or security advice.

2. Eligibility

2.1. The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 or over, resident in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom.

2.2. The Competition is not open to employees of the Promoter, any companies associated with Zyxel Group or their immediate families, or anyone professionally connected to the Competition or its administration.

2.3. By entering, participants confirm they meet the eligibility criteria above.

2.4. The Promoter may check any entrant's eligibility, including that of the provisional winner of a round, and may ask for proof of eligibility. If the Promoter finds that an entry, or the email address used for it, belongs to or is associated with a person excluded under Section 2.2, including an immediate family member of an employee of the Promoter or of any Zyxel Group company, that entry will be disqualified. If the disqualified entry would otherwise have won, the prize will be awarded to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round, and this will be repeated as needed until an eligible winner is found. "Immediate family" means a spouse or partner, parent, child or sibling, or anyone living in the same household.

3. How to Enter

3.1. To enter, participants must play Threat Wave at threatwave.zyxel.cloud and, when a game ends, submit their score using the entry form, providing: a scoreboard name; their first name, last name and email address; which best describes them (an individual, an IT reseller, an MSP or an installer); and, if they work for a business, their company name. Games are not saved, so each game must be finished and its score submitted before the page is closed.

3.2. Entry is free. No purchase is necessary. Entry is not restricted to a business or professional capacity.

3.3. The Competition initially runs from 5 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 ("Competition Period"), split into two quarterly rounds:

  • Q4 round: 5 October 2026, 00.01 (CET) – 31 December 2026, 23.59 (CET)

  • Q1 round: 1 January 2027, 00.01 (CET) – 31 March 2027, 23.59 (CET)

3.4. The leaderboard and each participant's highest score reset at the start of each quarterly round. Scores do not carry over between rounds — each round is judged independently, with its own winner.

3.5. Entries received outside the Competition Period will not be counted.

3.6. Participants may play as many games as they like. Each participant may submit up to 5 entries per day. The daily entry count resets at midnight UK time.

3.7. Once a participant has used their 5 entries for the day, they can unlock 5 additional entries, once per day, by using one of the share options in the game: "Email a friend", which opens the participant's own email app with a message ready to send; or "Share my score", which lets the participant share their score banner on LinkedIn, X, Facebook or by email, or save the image. The 5 additional entries are credited as soon as the participant clicks the share option or link. Shares are not independently verified: the additional entries are given on a goodwill basis and do not depend on the message or post actually being sent or published. Once the additional entries are unlocked, the score from the game just played is entered automatically. No more than 10 entries (5 standard and 5 additional) can be submitted per day.

3.8. An entry can only be submitted for a score that is higher than the participant's own highest entered score in the current round; equalling it does not count. Only each participant's highest score in a round will count towards the leaderboard and the result.

3.9. The same individual is recognized by the email address provided at entry; entries submitted under a different email address, including where a typographical error may have occurred, will be treated as separate entries. The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, correct or merge entries where it is satisfied a genuine error has occurred, following a request from the entrant, but is under no obligation to do so.

3.10. Scoreboard names may be up to 10 letters or numbers. Once a participant has used a scoreboard name, it is reserved for them and cannot be used by anyone else. The leaderboard shows the top 10 participants in the current round, each with their highest score. The scoreboard name and score are the only entry details shown publicly. The Promoter may remove or change any scoreboard name it considers offensive or otherwise inappropriate.

4. Skill-Based Competition

4.1. Threat Wave is a competition of skill. The result of each round depends on how well each entrant plays the game, including their reaction speed, accuracy, timing, use of cover and choice of strategy. The winner is not selected by random draw, lottery or any other element of chance.

4.2. The Competition is a free promotional competition. As set out in Section 3.2, no purchase, payment, stake or wager of any kind is needed to enter, play or win. The Competition is not a gambling or betting service.

4.3. All entrants play the same game, under the same rules and the same scoring system. Points are awarded for destroying threats (10 to 40 points, depending on the threat), destroying the bonus zero-day target (100 to 300 points) and clearing each wave (250 points multiplied by the wave number). The points for each threat are shown on the game's start screen.

4.4. As in any arcade game, some details vary from one game to the next, such as the movements and shots of the threats and when the bonus zero-day target appears. These variations apply equally to all entrants and are part of the challenge of the game. Entrants can play as many free games as they like to practise and improve, and each round runs for around three months, so the highest score in a round reflects the entrant's skill rather than chance.

4.5. Ties are decided by the earliest valid entry, by timestamp, as set out in Section 5.2, and never by a draw.

4.6. The Promoter intends the Competition to comply with the law of each country listed in Section 2.1. If the law of an entrant's country of residence would treat the Competition as a lottery, game of chance or prize draw, would require a licence, registration, notification or other formality that the Promoter has not completed, or would otherwise prohibit or restrict the Competition, then the Competition is not open to residents of that country, except on the terms of any country-specific addendum published under Section 11.4. The Promoter may exclude or disqualify entries from residents of that country, and any prize that would have gone to an excluded entry will be awarded to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round.

5. How the Winner Is Determined

5.1. For each quarterly round, the winner will be the eligible entrant who achieves the highest score recorded during that round, as determined by the game's scoring system described in Section 4.3.

5.2. In the event of a tie (two or more entrants achieving the same highest score within a round), the winner will be the entrant with the earliest valid entry, by timestamp.

5.3. The Promoter's decision on the winning score and any tie-break outcome is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding scoring disputes, save for genuine technical errors reported within 7 days of the relevant round ending.

6. The Prize

6.1. The prize for each quarterly round is one iPad Wi-Fi, 128GB, valued at €509.00.

6.2. The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered, except at the Promoter's sole discretion.

6.3. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary.

6.4. The prize can only be delivered to an address in one of the countries listed in Section 2.1. When claiming the prize, the winner must provide a valid delivery address in one of those countries, which will be used only to deliver the prize. If the winner cannot provide such an address, the Promoter may award the prize to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round.

6.5. The Promoter will order the prize from Apple and pay for it, together with any delivery fee charged by Apple as part of that purchase. The prize will be shipped directly to the winner by Apple or its delivery partner. Any other cost relating to the prize or its delivery, including any tax, duty or charge described in Section 6.6, is the winner's responsibility. To arrange delivery, the winner's name, delivery address and contact details will be shared with Apple and used only to deliver the prize. Delivery is subject to Apple's own delivery terms and timescales. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for any delay, loss or damage in transit, or for any failed delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address. If the prize cannot be delivered after reasonable attempts, it may be forfeited and awarded to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round.

6.6. The winner is solely responsible for any tax, duty or other charge arising from winning, receiving or using the prize, and for declaring the prize to the relevant authorities where required. This includes any income tax or gift tax and, as the prize is shipped directly by Apple, any customs duties, import VAT, handling fees or other charges added on delivery. Where the law of the winner's country requires the Promoter to withhold, pay or report tax on the prize, the Promoter may do so, and may require the winner to provide any information needed for that purpose and to pay the Promoter an amount equal to any such tax before the prize is ordered. If the winner refuses to pay any charge due on delivery, or does not provide that information or pay any such amount within 14 days of being asked, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round.

6.7. The prize is supplied with the manufacturer's standard warranty only. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter gives no warranty of its own for the prize, and any issues with the prize must be raised with the manufacturer.

7. Winner Notification

7.1. The winner of each quarterly round will be notified by email to the address provided at entry, within 14 days of that round ending. Entrants should use an email address they check regularly.

7.2. The winner must respond within 7 days of notification to claim the prize. If the winner does not respond within this period, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score in that round.

7.3. At the time of winning, the Promoter may separately ask the winner for consent to use their name and company in post-competition marketing (e.g. a social media announcement). This consent is distinct from general competition entry consent, is entirely optional, and is not a condition of receiving the prize.

8. Data Protection

8.1. Personal data collected through entry (first and last name, email address, scoreboard name, the description selected on the entry form, and company name where provided) will be used to administer the Competition, in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on the Zyxel Networks website (www.zyxel.com) ("Privacy Policy").

8.2. Providing marketing consent (a separate checkbox on the entry form, unticked by default) is optional and not a condition of entering the Competition. Entrants may withdraw marketing consent at any time.

8.3. Entry data will be kept for up to 6 months after the end of the round in which it was submitted, and then deleted, except that: (a) the winner's details will be kept for up to 1 year after the end of the round they won; and (b) where an entrant has given marketing consent, their name and email address will be kept for marketing purposes until they withdraw that consent, in line with the Privacy Policy.

8.4. Email addresses entered through the "Email a friend" share option are used only to count the share. The Promoter will not use them to contact the friend, and they will be kept for no longer than 6 months after the end of the round.

8.5. If an entrant selects "Remember my details on this device" on the entry form, their details are saved in their web browser on that device so they do not need to be typed again. These details can be cleared at any time using "Not you? Clear details" on the entry form. Entrants should not use this option on a shared device.

8.6. Entrants can exercise their data protection rights, including the rights of access and deletion, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disqualification

9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who: provides false or misleading information; attempts to manipulate scores through unauthorized means; breaches these Terms; or otherwise acts in bad faith in relation to the Competition.

9.2. To prevent automated abuse, the Promoter may temporarily limit very heavy use of the game from a single network. Normal play is not affected.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from participation in the Competition, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (e.g. for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

10.2. The Promoter is not responsible for games or entries that are lost, interrupted or not recorded because of technical problems, including problems with an entrant's device, browser or internet connection.

10.3. Subject to the exceptions in Section 10.1, the Promoter's maximum liability in connection with the Competition is to provide the prize for each round (or a substitute prize under Section 6.3) to the eligible winner of that round. The Promoter will not be liable for any tax, duty, charge, cost, expense or loss relating to the prize, its delivery or its use, other than as expressly set out in Section 6.

11. General

11.1. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Competition, or any individual quarterly round, at any time and for any reason, including where circumstances arise outside its control, with or without notice. Where reasonably possible, the Promoter will announce this at threatwave.zyxel.cloud. If a round is cancelled before it ends, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, award the prize for that round to the eligible entrant with the highest score at the time of cancellation.

11.2. Without limiting Section 11.1, if any tax, levy, licence, registration or other legal requirement applies in a country listed in Section 2.1, or the law of that country or its interpretation changes, in a way that would make the Competition unlawful, impractical or more costly for the Promoter in that country, the Promoter may withdraw the Competition, or any round, in that country at any time. Entries from residents of that country will then be void, any prize for the round concerned will be awarded to the entrant with the next-highest eligible score who is resident in a country where the Competition remains open, and the Promoter will have no further obligation to entrants in that country.

11.3. The Promoter reserves the right to run further quarterly rounds beyond 31 March 2027, on the same or updated Terms, with reasonable notice given to participants.

11.4. These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. The courts of Denmark will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Competition. This does not take away any protection an entrant has under the mandatory consumer laws of their country of residence, or their right to bring proceedings in that country. Where the Promoter publishes a country-specific addendum to these Terms, it forms part of these Terms for entrants resident in that country and prevails over these Terms if there is any conflict.

11.5. If any dispute or question arises about the Competition, including eligibility, entries, scores, the winner, the prize or the interpretation of these Terms, the Promoter's decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into, except as set out in Section 5.3. Nothing in this Section affects any statutory rights an entrant may have.

11.6. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Terms.
